I started in SEO and link building in 2011, went in-house the next year, and have been building marketing engines for security and privacy companies ever since.
The through-line is that I’ve always been the person who has to make the number, and who also has to build the thing that makes the number. That combination is unusual enough that it’s become the job description: strategy that survives contact with a CRM.
Three of the four companies on this page were acquired while I was there or shortly after. That’s not a coincidence I take credit for, but it does mean I’ve spent most of my career on the part of the curve where things are growing fast and nothing is documented yet.
